So, single origin (why so special?)

So you must be wondering why we are so obsessed with the whole single origin thing. Well here’s the thing…while many tea companies source from a wide variety of countries & plantations, mixing and blending to create a tea for you based largely on price or traded as a commodity, we have the distinct advantage of having our own tea estates that allow us to source all of our tea from the one location giving full traceability, consistency and the mindset of quality without compromise.

Think of it this way, would you rather a bottle of wine that was put together from lots of different types of grapes from lots of different regions, blended down to make the cheapest possible option that passes for an average taste? No, neither would we. Which is why we think it is so important that for every tea, you receive the true tea experience, which we believe is from Ceylon. The Origin. Our Origin.

Ultra silky and made from a bio-degradable material, our pyramid tea bags are kind to your health and to the environment.

English Breakfast

It’s the one we all know. The traditional of traditional. The perfect cup of tea that just knows how to hit the spot. English Breakfast is one of the most popular blends of black tea, which is definitely true at Origin Tea – you guys just love it! Not that we can say we blame you…stimulating and aromatic, the full body and robust blend of this tea has been said to take on the flavours of a full English cooked breakfast, and what could be better than that?

Earl Grey

While it may have been named after some old guy from way back in the 1800s, this traditional tea is far from fading out with the old. This elegant flavour is a favourite of many due to its earthy tones that are beautifully balanced with the floral notes of bergamot, creating a soothing blend perfect for winding down after a long day.

Green Sencha

Sencha or “simmered tea” as we know it, refers to the way that dried tea leaves make this beautiful light coloured liquid we all love. Coming from our Sri Lankan Sanqhuar Estate, this tangy, fresh tea is brewed perfectly for the drinker to feel awakened upon first sip, with the added benefits of antioxidants galore being exactly what anyone needs to get through the day.

Green Jasmine

Take the Green Tea Sencha and make it a little more refined and you pretty much have yourself Green Tea Jasmine. A bit mildler for the less adventurous of tea lovers, this tea produces a light yellow infusion with a full-bodied jasmine taste coloured by a hearty earthiness and a brisk, fresh finish. Great for an invigorating change that leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to take on anything!

Chamomile

Find your inner calm and stress relief with our Organic Chamomile. Have a cuppa before bed and you will find a soothing and relaxing blend that is not only comforting, but enjoyable to smell and look at.

Peppermint

Our Peppermint Tea contains only pure peppermint leaves, giving you the kick without the caffeine; perfect for people who want a nice, refreshing little buzz but want to do it naturally. With its deliciously light, minty refreshing taste, not only does this tea taste great, but Peppermint Tea can also aid digestion, clear out the senses and give you the pick-me-up you might need mid-day.

Forest Berry

The perfect infusion of nature’s little sweets – our Forest Berry Tea brings together a careful selection of berries and wildflowers to create one of our most awakening teas. Enjoy the delicious fruity taste of this blend either hot or cold. It’s sure to surprise your senses!

Lemongrass Ginger

Lemongrass Ginger is packed full of zest, spice and a ‘bitey-ness’ that only leaves you wanting more. The harmonious blend of freshness and warmth in a deliciously well-balanced fashion makes it the perfect cup to drink no matter the temperature or the time.

Black Chai Tea

Inspired by the traditional Indian Masala Chai, our Chai blend is one of our most popular, based largely on its unique taste. Consisting of a black tea base, with sharp cloves and cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg in an assertively spicy mix, this tea is great in winter to warm the cockles, or perfect in summer as a bitey alternative to the traditional cup.
